Emma Clark (Flores) — President & CEO
Emma Clark (Flores) is the heart and visionary behind Wyeast Gardens. A proud Oregon native with roots in Damascus and Pabelo, a rural village in Jalisco, Mexico, Emma’s early years were shaped by working the land, growing food, and learning traditional farming from her parents, Cipriano Flores and Judith Lopez. These experiences instilled a lifelong appreciation for nature, hard work, and family — values that continue to guide her leadership today.
Emma’s journey into landscaping began as a teen when her father gifted her a set of professional pruning tools. What started as a hobby blossomed into a passion, and eventually, a thriving family business. Emma leads with a commitment to sustainability, water conservation, and excellent customer care, always striving to bring her clients' outdoor visions to life.
Outside of work, Emma is a community builder. She hosts tea gatherings with other local entrepreneurs and is an active member of the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce, Damascus Civic Club, Gresham Referral Organization (GRO), and She’s Connected. She also enjoys a wide range of hobbies including cooking farm-to-table meals, horseback riding, scuba diving, and salsa dancing. Sundays are reserved for something extra special — attending church with her family, a tradition that keeps them grounded and connected.
Brian Clark — Operations Manager
Brian Clark, Emma’s husband and partner in business, plays a key role as Operations Manager at Wyeast Gardens. Often the first person clients meet during site assessments and audits, Brian brings a warm, hands-on approach backed by deep experience and craftsmanship.
He also shares his expertise as an instructor at the local Community College, where he leads a Workforce Development landscaping program. His classes offer hands-on technical training and fieldwork to help students discover rewarding careers in landscaping.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys hiking, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time outdoors — especially taking the baby for tractor rides to teach the value of hard work. Like Emma, Sunday mornings at church with the family are a cherished part of his week, offering rest and reflection.
A True Family Business
Emma and Brian share a full, joyful life with their six children, all of whom contribute to Wyeast Gardens in different ways — from on-site support to behind-the-scenes help. Their business is a true reflection of their shared values: family, faith, nature, and community.
Wyeast Gardens is also proud to support local culture and events, serving as a sponsor for the Damascus Open Studio and the Summer Concert Series at Watermelon Crawl. For the Clarks, landscaping isn’t just a service — it’s a lifestyle rooted in love, purpose, and connection.
